Flax is a Melbourne based, family owned business that has designed homewares for 25 years. All the ceramics are handcrafted in Vietnam. Flax products are baked at over 1240 degrees C, which strengthens the clay and make each piece more heat resistant and much stronger and durable to resist chipping and breaking whilst at the same time, maintaining its fineness, lightweight and tactile form. Of course, like all ceramics, please handle with care and do not use metal cutlery as the glaze could be scratches.
Flax can be used for both hot and cold foods and drinks and is microwave and dishwasher safe. They are also safe to use in an oven at lower temperatures. Do not expose to extreme temperature fluctuations, eg placing ice cold drinks in a heated cup as this could result in thermal shock and breakage.
Organically shaped and therefore small irregularities only add to the beauty of each item.
